How this free TEAS practice test works

The questions above are spread across Reading, Math, Science and English in roughly the same proportions as the 150 scored questions on the real ATI TEAS 7, and the timer runs at the real exam's pace. Your result shows where you stand in each section, not just one overall percentage.

You don't need an account. When you finish you'll see your score for each section next to ATI's Academic Preparedness Levels, so you can compare it with your program's cutoff. A short practice test is a small sample, so use it to decide what to study first.

Where the TEAS points are

Science is the biggest section, with 44 scored questions, and human anatomy and physiology alone is 18 of them, the largest single sub-area on the exam. It's also where test takers score lowest: on ATI's sample score report the national mean was 54.2% for Science, against 72.9% for Reading and for Math.

Reading has 39 scored questions, Math 34 and English 33. English gives you the least time per question (37 minutes for 37 questions), so grammar, punctuation and spelling rules need to be automatic.

ATI TEAS exam FAQ

How many questions are on the ATI TEAS 7?

170 questions in 209 minutes. 150 are scored and 20 are unscored pretest questions you can't tell apart. Reading has 45 questions in 55 minutes, Math 38 in 57, Science 50 in 60, and English and Language Usage 37 in 37.

What score do I need on the TEAS?

It depends on your program: ATI doesn't set one cutoff for everyone, and each nursing or allied health program sets its own minimum. ATI reports your result as a percentage and an Academic Preparedness Level (Developmental, Basic, Proficient, Advanced or Exemplary), and ATI says most schools look for Proficient or above. Check your program's admissions page for its number.

Can I use a calculator on the TEAS?

Yes. A basic on-screen calculator (add, subtract, multiply, divide, percent, square root and memory) is available on every question. You can't bring your own calculator, and phone or watch calculators aren't allowed.

How much does the TEAS cost?

ATI lists $120 plus sales tax when you test with ATI online or at a PSI test center. If your school proctors the exam, the school sets the price.

What is the hardest section of the TEAS?

For most people it's Science. It's the largest section, anatomy and physiology alone is 18 scored questions, and on ATI's sample score report Science had the lowest national mean (54.2%).

How many times can I take the TEAS?

ATI doesn't limit attempts, but many schools do, and ATI makes you wait at least 48 hours before scheduling a retake. Check your program's retake policy before you book.

Are the practice questions the same format as the real TEAS?

Most real TEAS questions are multiple choice with four options, and about 20% use other formats (select all that apply, fill in the blank, ordered response and hot spot). Our practice questions are multiple choice with four options and cover the same skills.

Is this affiliated with ATI?

No. Quizprep is an independent study tool. ATI TEAS is a trademark of Assessment Technologies Institute. Our questions are original and written to ATI's published TEAS 7 content outline.
